In 1990 Austrian conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt, backed by the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, performed Beethoven's Symphony No.8 and No.6 ('The Pastoral'). This film, produced and directed by Christopher Swann, was recorded live in the Stefaniensaal--one of the finest concert halls in Europe--renowned for its outstanding acoustics.
