The 1996 revival of Ariodante features many of the leading singers from the original 1993 production, from whom Alden drew performances of characteristic intensity: Ann Murray in the alto castrato title role, Lesley Garrett as Dalinda, Joan Rodgers as Ginevra, Christopher Robson as Polinesso and Paul Nilon as Lurcanio.
