She began exploring the bel canto repertory in depth and expanded the number of her roles to more than 70, including the Donizetti trilogy of operas about British monarchs - Roberto Devereux, Maria Stuarda, and Anna Bolena
By the time of her retirement, her roles spanned the gamut from Rameau's Hippolite et Aricie to Luigi Nono's 12-tone Intolleranza
