Bernstein, "the genius with the common touch" (Sunday Times) in concert conducting three of his finest orchestral works.

The album includes The Age of Anxiety from the Royal Gala Concert in the 1986 Bernstein Festival at London's Barbican and Divertimento from Vienna's Musikverein in 1985. "Teachers and Teaching is an illuminating hour-long documentary in which Bernstein rehearses, reminisces about his mentors and interacts with pupils and colleagues (incuding Lukas Foss, Seiji Ozawa, Michael Tilson Thomas and Krystian Zimerman).

For the recording of his compositions Leonard Bernstein invited the world-famous soloists Gidon Kremer for the Serenade and Krystian Zimerman for The Age of Anxiety.

Leonard Bernstein was one of the greatest and most universal musical personalities of our time and his music is stamped by exceptionally expressive melodies and striking rhythms.
