| Few swedish composers are so connected to one piece of music as Roman with his well known Drottningsholmsmusic. But who was he? What else has he written? The investigation reveales a modest man. Born in 1694, dedicated humanist, considerate husband and later a widower. He lost his hearing when he got older and lost a child and died of cancer in 1758. Roman legecy contains a lot of music, but hardly anything about the person. There is no known portrait of him. |
