When it came to jazz singing, Satchmo wrote the book. He eventually became even more widely known for his melodic, sandy voice than for his trumpet style. Here he is featured singing and playing in small groups and fronting Russell Garcia's orchestra. Guest musicians include Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, Ella Fitzgerald, and Oscar Peterson, and in the final, rousing selection, his famous all-stars.
