"Live In The Heart Of The City" was actually released twice, and this edition brings both versions together in one package for the first time. Of the two versions, the first was recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon on November 23, 1978 and was issued as an extended EP (just over half an hour long). The objective was to introduce Whitesnake to the Japanese market. The second version was a proper all-singing, all-dancing, long-player, again recorded at Hammersmith, this time on June 23 and 24, 1980.
