Nusrat has without doubt produced the best contemporise interpretation of Qawwali, the religious chanting song emanating from belief and amoreuse ardour of the 'Soufi's'.
Following his performances at the Theatre De La Ville in Paris during the early nineties and his enthusiastic promotion by his French record label, Orce Radio France, Nusrat's preface at the womad and real world festivals resulted in musical collaborations with 'Avante Garde' western musicians. Inspired by his interpretation of Qawwali, including peter Gabriel, Bjork and Jeff Buckley. He has since ventured to Hollywood working with Oliver Stone in 'Natural Born Killers' and Tim Robbins in 'Dead Man Walking'.
