Kenny Wheeler - flugelhorn Chris Potter - tenor saxophone John Taylor - piano Dave Holland - double bass
After his duo production with John Taylor for CamJazz Where do we go from here?, to celebrate his 75th birthday, trumpeter KENNY WHEELER presents "WHAT NOW?".
The question which gives this CD its title is indeed relevant considering the enthusiasm that Wheeler has been expressing in his music and projects for over 50 years. A CD containing new tracks, skilfully performed by Kenny and two of his old friends, John Taylor and Dave Holland, and with them Chris Potter, one of today's "youths" on the rise. The "sound" of Wheeler, a continuous fountain of inspiration for many, allows us to dream with a quartet where, without the help of drums, Dave Holland keeps the rhythm as only he knows how to do. John Taylor with his always-punctual interplay and Chris Potter in perfect coherency, contribute to make this CD a precious gift from Wheeler to his enthusiasts. |
