Background on Combustication Remix EP:
Guru: Guru is one half of the legendary hip hop group Gang Starr (with DJ Premiere). He fronted Jazzmatazz volume 1 & 2 and is involved in countless solo projects fusing jazz and hip hop.
Automator: One of the hottest underground hip hop producers in recent years. Automator gained attention with the album Doctor Octagon (considered an underground hip hop classic although it came out just a few years ago) featuring his production skills aside rapper Kool Keith from the Ultra Magnetic MCs. Automatator has recently completed mixes for John Spencer Blues Explosion and is working on an album with famed De La Soul producer Prince Paul.
Yuka Honda: A member of the eclectic Asian hip hop/rock group Cibo Matto, admired by the Beastie Boys. Yuka's close association with Sean Lennon has allowed Sean to perform on this mix.
Bill Laswell: One of the more enigmatic and forward thinking musician/producers in Jazz. Bill Laswell has done many of Henry Thradgill's records and received international attention with the release of Panthalassa , a Miles Davis remix project for Columbia Records.
DJ Logic: MMW's resident DJ who has also worked extensively with Vernon Reid and many others in the New York City downtown scene.
