For more than 70 years violinist Svend Asmussen has been a professional artist, and he is still the internationally best known Danish jazz musician. Through the years he has been very active as an actor and entertainer, but in the latest decades he has turned back to the genuine jazz. As usual in fine shape he is caught at the stage in Copenhagen in 1986 with two of the city's great American musicians, pianist Kenny Drew and drummer Ed Thigpen, and with one of the world's finest bassists, his fellow-countryman Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen.
