Echoing the spirit of such legendary tenor saxophone pairings as Lester Young & Coleman Hawkins, or Al Cohn & Zoot Sims, Hamilton and Allen are constantly inventive and swinging in an instantly classic session that is much more a "tenor mutual admiration society" than it is a "tenor battle".
