Originally released on Atlantic, this gold disc release from MFSL brings out a lot of warmth and closeness in this long live recording of Bobby Short and his band. Though it dates from 1974, the material (much of it Broadway standards) and the cool, studied jazz arrangements pull the music itself out of time, leaving it undated. This won't be to everyone's taste, of course, but the mastering and presentation give a good reason to have it in a collection.
