Jazz / Mainstream Jazz; Classic Jazz; Traditional Pop; New Orleans Jazz; Swing
Louis Armstrong invented jazz. A native of the poor suburbs of New Orleans he transformed the bubbling polyphony of early-century American music into a musical language that was universal, featuring accents that were by turns triumphant and heart-rending, but always profoundly human; their richness of inspiration was to be reflected on the whole of 20th century American popular music. CD1 features the incomparable expressive qualities of his singing in the most varied contexts, while CD2 explores the trumpeter's vibrant New Orleans fibre, surrounded by accomplices in total symbiosis with his artistry.
