Tenor Combustion was recorded during June/July, 1996 by Gene Stone with a Jazz Quintet, under the musical direction of Kent Glenn, comprised of some of the finest and most-in-demand jazz musicians on the west coast; Gene Stone - Drums, Vince Wallace - Tenor Sax, Lou Ciotti - Tenor Sax, Kent Glenn - Piano and Putter Smith - Bass. Tenor Combustion is a follow-on to Vintage Stonejazz (released April 20th,2004) as part of a series dedicated to the great jazz of this era.
This pyrotechnic tour de force breathes new fire into these classic jazz standards; Bernie's Tune, The Touch Of Your Lips, Wahoo, I’ll Remember April, Time After Time, Bonna Rue, Invitation, Movin’ Out, Day Dream, and Au Privave, that will leave the listeners ears burning for more.
