The art of the drum solo with Sonia and Issam is another offering in the line of Bellydance Superstars Bellydance instructional DVDs. This DVD introduces the essential rhythms and techniques used in a live drum solo performance. You will learn the series of combinations that lead to a full drum solo choreography as well as the vocabulary for improvising drum solo performances.
Sonia was the first dancer signed to the BELLYDANCE SUPERSTARS. She is the personification of grace, style and beauty with transcendent sensuality. She began her training with classical ballet, modern and jazz dance. Her ancestry drew her to Latin styles, flamenco, and Mexican folk. She also trained and performed Polynesian styles before graduating to belly dancing as her major love. This versatility has made Sonia the most featured dancer in the Bellydance Superstars show. In the first year with the Bellydance Superstars, Sonia performed on every show to an audience of over 500,000 live, and many millions on television. She stars in the BELLYDANCE SUPERSTARS PERFORMANCE DVD and the film AMERICAN BELLYDANCER.
Issam is one of the greatest Tablah players of all time. His skills and techniques are unmatched. As a master Tablah player from Damascus, Syria Issam has played for master singers and dancers such as Cheb Mami, Ragheb Alama, Samara, and Haweda Al Hashem. Issam was a featured drummer for Sting on his Desert Rose Tour.
