 William Parker Violin Trio
 Billy Bang : Violin
 Hamid Drake : Drums
 William Parker : Bass

William Parker is widely acknowledged as one of the most important voices in jazz today. On Scrapbook, the bassist has assembled a different sort of trio, featuring legendary violinist Billy Bang and frequent collaborator Hamid Drake on drums. Over the years Bang has collaborated with countless musicians, including Sun Ra and Bootsy Collins. At times he doesn't so much coax as tear sounds from his violin. I first met Billy Bang in the Bronx, relates Parker, saying, He reminded me of a travelling magical music man whose violin could sing.

It's certainly among the greatest pieces of work he's put out. - Allaboutjazz.com
