| Gonzalo Rubalcaba, one of the premier artists in Afro-Cuban music, brings together a cornerstone of bebop and a contemporary of Afro-Cuban percussion to create a Trio of depth and breadth. The Trio traverses mainly through bebop classics, but also takes their audience on brief trips to the more modern. Towards the end of the set the Trio finally travels to their Afro-Cuban roots and then concludes with a light-hearted traditional jazz number. A pleasure not only to hear but also to watch.
