Chuck Loeb's guitar playing sparkles with energy on this jazzy album released by the Shanachie record label. The concept for the album came from Loeb's contemplation of his own minor heart murmur and the rhythms of the human heartbeat. A deeply personal project, it features contributions from his family as well as musicians Mark Egan and Vinnie Colaiuta. Loeb is a talented guitarist, but, more importantly, this album offers up a fresh and bright sound, making it a joy to listen to. ---Stacia Proefrock, allmusic |
