Maestro has divided this first double-CD 'Blue Note Trip' into two parts: one half is full of uptempo, glowing, jazzy tunes, while the other half comprises of loungy, laidback, relaxed vibes.
The first CD, 'Saturday Night,' includes tracks by legends such as Donald Byrd, Ronnie Jordan, Grant Green, and Minnie Riperton. A selection based on feeling, according to Maestro: "A record to listen to at home, before you head into town for a night out. You're standing in front of the mirror, getting into the mood." 'Sunday Morning,' as the name implies, more or less represents the musical cooldown: "Early in the morning, back at home, time to recover." |
