2003 Winner of the Premio Gardel (Argentina's Equivalent to a Latin Grammy) for Best Male Folk Album. The Argentinean Guitar Virtuoso and Composer was Encouraged by his Dad and Stepdad (Both Musicians) to Play the Guitar at an Early Age. Salinas Never Studied in a Conservatory, a Fact that Many Feel Gives Him an Enormous Capacity for Originality. His Sincerity and Musicianship Shine When He Plays Any Musical Style. George Benson Says, "he is One of My Favorite Guitarists" and Chick Corea Proclaims Him as "One of the Greatest Argentinean Musicians". Scott Henderson Affirms "he is Incredible. A Guitar Hero Without a Doubt". Baden Powell Called Him "a Crazy and Brilliant Guitarist." His Versatility Has Led to Invitations to Share the Stage with Legends Like B.b.king And Hermeto Pascoal. Argentinean self-taught guitarist Luis Salinas started playing at a young age, mostly influenced by his family and local musicians. Soon he teamed up with Adolfo Abalos, Horacio Salgan, Jaime Torres, and Maria Graña and had the opportunity to participate in their recordings. After signing up to GRP, the contemporary jazz performer debuted with Salinas in 1996, followed by Solo Guitarra, which included a version of Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life." Salinas returned in 2001 with Rosario.
