Lisa Bassenge is a young vocalist, with a distinctive, expressive voice, who has built up a solid following in Berlin. Together with her trio, pianist Andreas Schmidt and bassist Paul Kleber, she takes unusual and interesting repertoire, from Duke Ellington ("Caravan") to Madonna ("Like A Virgin"), with the aim of transforming the art of jazz singing using new ways of expression. |
