Ralph Peterson Primary Artist Belden Bullock Bass Bryan Carrott Vibraphone Ralph Peterson's Fo'tet Track Performer Steve Wilson Soprano Saxophone
The Fo'tet Plays Monk is Evidence recording artist Ralph Peterson's second CD for the label. Using the same "fo'tet" as on The Reclamation Project, (ECD-22113) this CD features Ralph Peterson on drums, Belden Bullock on bass, Bryan Carrott on vibraphone, and Steve Wilson on soprano sax. Ralph's repertoire consists of nine tunes written by Thelonious Monk, and two written in the Monk tradition by band-members. The intent of the band on this recording was not to recreate Monk, but to play in the spirit of Monk, and they have accomplished this by creating original, modern and thought-provoking interpretations, thereby staking out new territory.
