Jazz / Afrojazz / Afrobeat
Sofi Hellborg's music is her own mixture of afro, funk and jazz. She have released four albums and plays the alto and soprano saxophone as her main instruments but she also sings, plays the thumbpiano compose and produce.
Sofi moved back to Sweden in year 2000 after 16 years abroad in London, Paris and Africa, playing with for example Mory Kante. Sofi are also composing music for dance & film, she prepares her fifth cd still in her own afrojazz style. Colored by a new moody atmosphereathmosphere coming from growth and maturity, now with a more electric jazz feeling.
The new album will be a meeting between France and Sweden and will also include very special guest Tony Allen on percussions and Jason "Timbuktu" Diakite on some vocal tracks. This new production will also include a tour and a music documentary filmed both in Sweden and in France. |
