One year after the release of their prodigal album, Masses, Spring Heel Jack went back to the studios - this time with the all-stars of British jazz, including such luminaries as Evan Parker, Kenny Wheeler, Han Bennink, and Paul Rutherford. Joining in with this cast of heavy-hitters is the frontman from the Brit supergroup Spiritualized, Jason Pierce and the sole American on this date, Matthew Shipp playing Fender Rhodes. Amassed challenges once again the notion of Jazz. |
