Pianist Kevin Hays was a child prodigy, working at New York City jazz spots before graduating from high school. This was his second recording, made at the age of 22. For this CD, he used an all-star cast that included Grammy Award-winner Joe Henderson on tenor sax, the soprano and alto saxes of Steve Wilson, bassist Scott Colley, and Bill Stewart on drums.
