From Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin'" and Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me", to the soulful sound of Leon Ware and Pam Sawyer's "If I Ever Lose This Heaven" and the Van Morrison hallmark, "Crazy Love", Do It Again is an enticing set that radiates a relaxed earthiness and sensuality.
Surrounding himself with a group of fellow superstars from the contemporary jazz world, Golub breathes a modern sense of fun and funk into these timeless tracks with his passionate guitar lines and skillful playing. Trumpeter/producer Rick Braun, saxophonists Gerald Albright and Richard Elliot, and vocalists Sue Ann Carwell and Alexx Day all contribute to the mix on Do It Again.
The follow up to Golub's hit GRP Records debut Dangerous Curves (2000), Do It Again also includes Golub's renditions of Eddie Harris' "Cold Duck Time", Teddy Pendergrass' "Turn Off The Lights", and the James Brown classic, "Cold Sweat". |
