The Ellington band in all its glory live in England in 1969 performing a variety of material including older gems such as "Black Butterfly" and "Azure" and newer material like "Tootie For Cootie", "Black Swan," "4:30 Blues" and "In Triplicate," an atypical tenor battle number for Paul Gonsalves, Harold Ashby and Norris Turney. Other soloists include Johnny Hodges, Cootie Williams, Cat Anderson, Lawrence Brown and guest Wild Bill Davis. |
