Latest Outlook - the new Stryker / Slagle Band CD, is a musical portrait of how we see the world in the present tense. After last year's "Live at the Jazz Standard" (ZOHO ZM 200509), Steve and I had a batch of new music that we were ready to record. Bassist Jay Anderson had been recording some excellent sounding CD's at his studio in New Paltz, NY, so we decided to head up there and put down some tracks. As it turns out, Jay is not only a great bassist, he is also a great engineer with (best of all) "musician's ears". Jay has played and recorded with Steve and I since the 80's, so musically we're like brothers. |
