This exciting album marks pianist Hector Martignon's Candid debut. Born in Colombia, nowadays Hector lives in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York City. He is a graducate of the Charlie Scpulveda's band and made a significant impact on the Ray Baretto band, responsible for many of the hits.
Fellow Colombian Jairo Morcno on bass and master percussionist Satoshi Takeishi make up the Martignon trio heard here to great effect. Add star guests Romero Lubambo, Manol Badrena, Donny McCaslin, vocalist Gabriela Anders and others to the melting pop and you have an outstanding portrayal of the dynamic New York Latin Jazz scene. |
