Recorded 'live' at the Jazz Showcase (the latest in an annual series), the CD features the alluring catalyst of alto saxophonist Jazz Master Phil Woods who fully ignites the performances. The interactive union of Phil and the DePaul University band is not a dialogue between strangers since all parties have built a foundation for a rewarding relationship.
Phil Woods is at the peak of his distinguished career. He leaves his unmistakable signature when he starts a chorus blending immaculate execution with the delivery of a skein of melodic ideas that characterize his solos.
