Andre Previn is one of the few artists whose abilities allow him to successfully bridge the gap between Pop, Jazz and Classical music. This collection of a dozen songs dealing with love features Previn as both pianist and conductor. Originally released in 1960, this disc features masterful renditions of tunes such as "Falling In Love Again", "When I Fall In Love", and "At Long Last Love".
Five Decades
I've been listening to this for that long. It is my all time favorite album. I love the jazz piano with the strings. Initially I owned a vinyl of it via the Columbia Record Club. I believe it was a first press. I have since purchased this CD through Amazon and it sounds so much better than the scratchy vinyl that I played so many times. Andre Previn really got this one right. To date, there has been no equal.
NOSTALGIA ROMANTICA
I grew up listening to the wonderful music of Andre Previn.
This album is one of my particular favourites - 12 tracks of love songs. Favourites are "Love is Here to Stay", "When I Fall in Love" and "Looking for Love".
I love listening to this music in my car. It is the epitomy of easy listening, relaxing music. A great stress reliever! Highly recommended.
ROMANTIC JAZZ
Previns slightly jazzy yet romantic piano stylings are featured here with lush strings as background. Some might call it "easy listening", it certainly is that; yet some would think of this
CD as primarily romantic sounds or music to read by. I like it as quiet, light music to entertain by. So, take your choice.....it is a great and listenable collection. |
