Jazz
The Lounge Art Ensemble, which consists of Bob Sheppard (saxophones), Dave Carpenter (electric and acoustic bass) and Peter Erskine (playing the Yamaha "Club Jordan" cocktail drumkit for the entire recording), is dedicated to playing Modern American Music in the horn trio format. "Lava Jazz" celebrates the spirit of American song and swing in this refreshing set of original compositions which pays homage to beloved jazz standards. It's Cool. It's Hip. It's Hot. It's "Lava Jazz."
Zan Stewart writes: "Lava Jazz offers (albeit a tad tongue-in-cheek, given its lounge affiliation) another superlative view of the saxophone-bass-drums trio, one of the most exciting and full-of-potential ensembles in modern jazz.
