For the past year the Chicago Underground has been turning the heads of critics and fans across the country with their unique sound that balances free jazz with electronica and tuneful post-bop compositions. The group consists of four of the busiest members of Chicago's thriving creative music scene who have performed and recorded with AACM stalwarts Fred Anderson and Ernest Dawkins, as well as prominent avant ensembles Tortoise and Isotope 217.
