"20 Years of memories went flying past me. It was like someone threw 20,000 volts through my arse." Says Wayne Barratt, Slaughter & The Dogs vocalist. "You see this sea of Punk Rockers in front of you and ask yourself: Is this for real?"
He was of course talking about the Dogs fever pitched set at the 1996 Holidays In The Sun festival in Blackpool, England. After starting their career supporting Punk legends The Sex Pistols, gaining a prestigious recording deal with Decca Records and being cited by many as forefathers of the 1980's Oi! movement, the band split in the early 80's leaving behind a trail of classic Punk Rock tracks and a string of legendary rumours.
15 years later, ready to celebrate Punk Rock's coming of age, Slaughter & The Dogs became the most anticipated act of the 50 band strong Holidays In The Sun bill. "Cranked Up Really High" is the first chance to see the band's amazing performance on DVD, indeed it is the first ever DVD release to feature the band.
The set includes their classic Punk favourites "Cranked Up Really High", "Where Have All The Bootboys Gone?" and "You're Ready Now". The DVD also features an interview with frontman Wayne Barratt. |
