The first ever DVD to feature a true headline band from the first wave of UK punk - The Boys. The Boys formed in London in 1976. Guitarist "Honest" John Plain, a factory worker, recruited fellow employees Duncan "Kid" Reid on vocals and bass and Jack Black on drums; they were joined by guitarist Matt Dangerfield and keyboardist Casino Steel. They debuted with the single "I Don't Care," followed by their self-titled debut LP (the band were the first from the UK punk scene to sign a full album deal with a major label). The band's second single "First Time" garnered major critical acclaim and a large fanbase began to build in the UK and Europe. Two further albums followed before the band split in the early 1980's. However, the band's fanbase would not let them go, and demand led to a reunion in 1999, which is going strong to present day and has included tours around the world. "Kamikaze" features two full shows from the band, the first a previously unseen show from a UK tour in 1980 and the second a show in Germany from the reunion tour in 2001. Amongst the tracks featured are Independent Chart top forty hits "Kamikaze" and "Terminal Love". |
