Celebrated bassist and composer Charles Mingus' influence was so strong many of his alumni continued on as Mingus Dynasty in efforts to recapture his spirit. (Mingus Dynasty was a group of rotating musicians who took their name from an earlier album recorded by Mingus himself in 1959.) This Atlantic album recorded in 1980 features Randy Brecker on trumpet and Joe Farrell on tenor sax.
