One of the finer arrangers in the Los Angeles area, Mark Masters worked for Stan Kenton's Creative World in the 1980s and has led his Jazz Composers Orchestra since the early '80s. His big band has recorded for Sea Breeze (1984 and 1986), Capri (1990), and Focus (1993); the latter a set of Jimmy Knepper compositions.
