The main reasons to acquire this release are for the Sonny Rollins-Larry Coryell duets on "The File" and particularly "My Ideal." Less worthwhile is a song given the hideous title of "Disco Monk" and Rollins' attempt to forge a personality on the lyricon on "Tai-Chi." A bit erratic, this album is still worth acquiring for its stronger moments. --- Scott Yanow, All Music Guide |
