As is often the case on Sonny Rollins's recordings of the '80s, he sounds best on a ballad (in this case Billy Strayhorn's "My Little Brown Book") yet often coasts on his own originals. The backup band (guitarists Bobby Broom and Yoshiaki Masuo, electric bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Jack DeJohnette) does little to uplift this decent but somewhat forgettable effort.
