Green Day finally took their raw punk sound to a major label in 1994 with the release of the classic Dookie. Recorded in just three weeks, the album became a breakthrough sensation, eventually selling more than ten million copies. Since then, the band has become a major mainstream rock act with overall sales of more than 50 million to their credit.
This very special DVD is a major retrospective of the band and its work so far. Featuring as its back drop breathtaking live footage of Green Day in action including film of the bands infamous Woodstock appearance in 1994 the program calls upon some of those who have worked with the band to give their thoughts, opinions and recollections.
These include Larry Livermore, the founder of Lookout Records; John Lucasey, owner of Studio 880; and Jon Ginoli, guitarist and singer with the band Pansy Division, who toured with Green Day on their Dookie tour.
