Put one of the classical worlds foremost horn players Barry Tuckwell, together with one of our most outstanding film composers, Richard Rodney Bennett and have them do duets of JEROME KERN and you have what certainly sums up our title! Long out of print Tuckwell has made several outings with jazz recordings with George Shearing but this album with Bennett, who is most famous for Murder On The Orient Express and Far From The Madding Crowd, is very special. The 28 piece orchestra is conducted by Neil Richardson and the arrangements are also by Bennett. |
