Bob's fans who have been with him from the beginning heard him here first…this Initial solo release produced by Creed Taylor features the instrumental version of 'Feel Like Making Love" - which introduced Bob to the huge 1970's audience of popular jazz - this track was a huge hit at radio and really can be credited for launching Bob's solo career. Bob remembers ... "it was an enormous opportunity and challenge for me to step into the role of leader and solo artist. I had been very comfortable behind the scenes arranging and playing the piano. It is thanks to Creed Taylor who believed in me, that I became a solo artist and thanks to the fans who received me so well, that I remain one today." 'Nautilus' continues today to be one of the most requested songs at Bob's concerts. The personnel on this record represent the finest in New York studio and recording musicians, Steve Gadd, Ralph MacDonald ,John Faddis, George Marge and, of course, Gary King on bass. His arrangement of 'Night On Bald Mountain' earned Bob his first Grammy nomination in 1974.
