'Westchester Lady' immediately became a hit upon the release of Bob's third solo album. It has become a fixture in Bob's live shows - and recognizable to all as his signature composition. (Also earning his second Grammy nomination for the arrangement.) His collaboration with the fine collection of first call studio musicians continued - Will Lee on bass and Harvey Mason on drums make their first appearance on a Bob James recording (on 'Westchester Lady' along with Eric Gale). Bob is known for creating on his feet and, although it is hard to believe, several of these songs were actually composed and arranged either on his way to the studio or when he was actually there. Bob admits, "I've always composed on my own at the piano but it has turned out over the years that often, when I am in the studio with all these creative minds, I am inspired even more - not only with their playing but with their generosity and friendship. This creative style continues today for me and Harvey Mason when we work on our Fourplay projects."
