One of Bob's most successful releases ever, this album includes the theme from the TV series, "Taxi" - 'Touchdown" was the tune Bob actually wrote as the theme but the show's producers like the short cue Bob had written and recorded for one brief scene with the main character, Alex, and a young woman, Angela. When telling this story, Bob always points out, "We had no way of knowing that the show and the song would become so amazingly successful and long-lasting. A wonderful experience for any artist in his career." "Touchdown" remains one of the best examples of another of Bob's creative talents - his horn arrangement of the tune thrilled live audiences who were lucky enough to see the show with a full complement of trumpets, trombones, sax, clarinet and flute. The musicians who appear on this album are some of the greatest recording and performing artists in the jazz field; they include David Sanborn, Michael & Randy Brecker, Eric Gale, Steve Gadd and in what would be the beginning of a long, productive and warm collaboration, the first appearance by Earl Klugh on a Bob James project.
