In December 1952 Fred Astaire was on the rebound - with his MGM film The Band Wagon about to roll and a massive recording project, the Fred Astaire Story, in the works. In these sessions, the great dancer had a way of inhabiting a song and making it his own - his dance-based sense of rhythm caught every nuance of phrase.
