Bill Evans's final recording for Fantasy is considered to be one of his best. The Grammy-winning effort is a glorious sampler of several composers who inevitably inspired the pianist, including Michel Legrand, Johnny Mandel, Earl Zindars, and Steve Swallow, in a program where variety is achieved while peak inspiration is sustained. Two bonus tracks, which first appeared on the posthumous Fantasy anthology From the Seventies, have been added to make the session complete.
