In the 1960s Pat Martino was one of the bright, up-and-coming stars of the guitar. His series of recordings for Prestige helped establish him with a wider listening audience, including many of his peers. The first in this series was Strings!, a deft matchup with versatile reedman/flutist Joe Farrell and the resourceful pianist Cedar Walton. Four of the five originals are by Martino, while the other, "Minority," is from the pen of Gigi Gryce.
