Preludes & Rhapsodies combines Deodato's first two CTI albums -- Prelude and Deodato 2 -- and, for whatever reason, shuffles the original track sequences. Released by the Australian Raven label, it'll come in handy for those who want two of Deodato's finest albums in one shot, and those who are sticklers for hearing the tracks in the proper order can always re-program them. Both albums have been reissued individually through other outlets -- such as Columbia/Legacy's CTI reissue campaign and King Japan's similar series -- and each one has bonus tracks that should be of significance for fans of this phase in Deodato's career. Some reissues of Prelude add the single edit of "Also Sprach Zarathustra"; some reissues of Deodato 2 add three significant cuts to the original release, including a version of Steely Dan's "Do It Again."
