 His work with the John Coltrane band in the 60s established saxophonist Pharoah Sanders as one of the most distinctive voices in jazz, and he is now recognized and respected for his unique style and contribution to the genre. This recording is a double-CD tribute to his mentor, and features a number of compositions written and/or recorded by ‘Trane including "Naima", "Crescent" and "After the Rain", plus such standards as "Body and Soul", "Misty", and "In a Sentimental Mood".
